Hours Before Start
Welcome to Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), the country’s commercial center. The city never sleeps, with over nine million inhabitants and five million motorbikes. Your driver and tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
This morning, you will visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the struggle for independence. The network includes innumerable trap doors, living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Afterward, return to Saigon for a half-day city tour, including the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, the War Remnants Museum, and Ben Thanh Market. Overnight at the hotel.
Depart Saigon for Cai Be in Vinh Long Province. Upon arrival, embark on a discovery of the Mekong Delta. Along the way, you will visit local cottage industries, including rice paper makers, sweet factories, and bonsai nurseries. After a hearty lunch at an orchard, navigate through the intricate canals of the Mekong Delta to Vinh Long. Then, take a short drive to Can Tho. Check in to your hotel and enjoy free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Early in the morning, take a boat trip to Cai Rang Floating Market, one of the busiest floating markets in the Mekong Delta, with hundreds of small boats barging to trade goods such as pumpkins, pineapples, and sugar cane. After sampling local fruits, return to the hotel through the myriad canals.
In the afternoon, depart for Chau Doc, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Upon arrival, visit Ba Chua Xu Temple, a revered sanctuary dedicated to the local guardian deity. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, visit Chau Doc Floating Village, a fascinating waterside village offering a glimpse into the daily lives of the local fishing community. You can glide through the waterways on a traditional sampan to witness fishing, trading, and daily routines.
After lunch, return to Saigon. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival in Da Nang, transfer to Hoi An. In the afternoon, take a tour of the ancient town of Hoi An, with stops at Phuc Kien Congregational Hall, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and Tan Ky Ancient House. You will then have free time to explore Hoi An on your own, shop for souvenirs, or have a suit tailored. Overnight at the hotel.
Today, you will drive to My Son, a World Heritage site located 50 km southwest of Hoi An. My Son was the religious and cultural center of the Champa Kingdom, home to red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from the 7th to 13th centuries. After the visit, return to Hoi An in the afternoon, with free time for shopping or tailoring. Overnight at the hotel.
This morning, depart Hoi An for Hue. En route, stop to visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountain. Upon arrival in Hue, check into your hotel and enjoy free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Hue, the ancient capital, is surrounded by royal tombs of past emperors. Take a boat trip along the scenic Perfume River, visiting Thien Mu Pagoda and Ming Mang Emperor’s Mausoleum.
In the afternoon, visit the Imperial City, which includes the Forbidden Purple City and the Emperor’s private residence. You will also visit a traditional garden house. End the day with a special Hue Royal Meal. Overnight at the hotel.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before taking a cycling trip to Thanh Toan Bridge. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day city tour of Hanoi. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the stilt house, the final resting place of Vietnam’s national hero. Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and the Museum of Ethnology. Later, visit Hoa Lo Prison, also known as the “Hanoi Hilton.”
In the late afternoon, experience the hustle and bustle of Hanoi’s Old Quarter by electric car, passing iconic landmarks such as Hoan Kiem Lake and St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Sapa. Along the way, admire the stunning landscapes of northwest Vietnam, with terraced fields and mountain views. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Cat Cat village, home to the H’mong ethnic group. Explore the village and see the Cat Cat Waterfall. Free time in Sapa in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and head to Bac Ha Market (open on Sundays), where you’ll find a variety of ethnic groups selling their goods.
After lunch, visit Hoang A Tuong’s Palace and a Flower H’Mong village called “Pho.” Later, drive to Ha Giang, check into your hotel, and enjoy free time. Overnight in Ha Giang.
After breakfast, visit the Vuong Family Residence, once home to the “Hmong King.” Then, travel through the stunning landscapes of Dong Van Plateau. Enjoy the jaw-dropping scenery before reaching Dong Van. Overnight at a hotel in Dong Van.
After breakfast, check out and travel through the spectacular Ma Pi Leng Pass. After lunch, explore the majestic Nho Que River by boat, surrounded by towering mountain ranges. In the evening, return to Ha Giang, check into your hotel, and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Hanoi. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Pick up from your hotel and drive to Ninh Binh. Visit Hang Mua (Mua Cave) for panoramic views of the surrounding area, then bike through rice fields and visit a traditional Vietnamese family in the Tam Coc area. After lunch, take a sampan ride through the “Halong Bay on land” in Tam Coc. In the afternoon, visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, and the temple of King Dinh. Return to your hotel. Overnight in Ninh Binh.
After breakfast, travel to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch on board, check into your cabin and relax, or take part in activities such as kayaking or swimming. Enjoy a cooking demonstration on the sundeck and witness the sunset over the bay. Dinner is served on board. Overnight on the cruise.
Start the day with a Tai Chi lesson on the deck at sunrise. After a light breakfast, explore the famous caves in the bay. Disembark from the boat and enjoy brunch before returning to Hanoi. Overnight at the hotel.
