Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then embark on a full-day city tour. Begin at the Ho Chi Minh Complex (including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the stilt house), followed by the nearby One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university.
In the afternoon, visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, one of Hanoi’s best, showcasing the history, culture, and contributions of women across Vietnam. Then, explore the Old Quarter on a one-hour cyclo ride through the iconic 36 Streets, passing by landmarks such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, and the Hanoi Opera House. In the evening, join a Foodie Tour by night. Sample local dishes such as green papaya salad, Bun Cha, Pho (beef or chicken noodles), Banh Cuon, Banh Mi, and Hanoi draft beer. After breakfast, depart for Halong Bay – a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quang Ninh Province. “Ha Long” means “descending dragon.” Upon arrival, board a cruise to explore the natural wonders of the bay, home to thousands of limestone karts and islets in various shapes and sizes.
After lunch on board, check into your cabin. The captain will sail to a secluded area where you can swim, sunbathe on the top deck, or try kayaking. Arrive in Da Nang, then transfer to Hoi An Ancient Town – a remarkably well-preserved trading port from the 15th–19th centuries, reflecting both indigenous and foreign influences. Overnight in Hoi An.
In the morning, visit a local fishing village and learn about the lives of Vietnamese fishermen and their communities. Board a boat to cruise the Cua Dai River and try traditional fishing techniques with the locals. Enjoy cultural folk music (Bả Trạo) on board. Try paddling a bamboo basket boat and join a basket boat race. Explore the peaceful coconut-palm-lined waterways once used in wartime. Enjoy lunch and a refreshing drink.
In the afternoon, take a walking tour of Hoi An Ancient Town, stopping at Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and Tan Ky Ancient House.
